Course: Athena’s Story

At the time of being introduced to the Apollo project, Athena was working part-time but dreamed of a career within Health and Social Care.

She was referred to Nicky on the Apollo project by the Job Centre. After her first meeting, she was encouraged by the support she would be given and excited to start her journey towards a career within Health and Social Care.

Athena has regular appointments with Nicky, she also met new people which enabled her to build on her communication skills. By taking part on the Apollo courses, her confidence and independence has improved along with realising her potential within the opportunities available.

“My advice would be to go for it, even if it’s out of your comfort zone. With the dedicated support, you’re provided with many different opportunities for experience and new knowledge which helps in daily life as well as in your career progression.”
